LEYTE, Philippines — Vice President Sara Duterte is calling for the Marcos administration to take legal action against high-ranking government officials involved in the arrest and transfer of her father, former President Rodrigo Duterte, to the International Criminal Court (ICC).
During an interview in Sogod, Leyte on April 29, the Vice President expressed support for Senator Imee Marcos’ recommendation to file criminal and administrative cases against several cabinet members and law enforcement officials. VP Sara emphasized that those who played a role in what she described as an “illegal” arrest should face the consequences.
“We want to see charges filed against the people responsible for the abduction of former president Rodrigo Duterte,” she said.
She also challenged the Marcos administration to prove that the arrest was not politically motivated.
“If the administration claims there was no political intent, they should show the public by charging those involved,” VP Sara added.
