An eyewitness told Page Six that Matt Damon, 54, arrived separately from Affleck at the Paramount Theatre on Saturday. While Damon pulled up in a black SUV, Affleck, 52, made a grand entrance with co-star Jon Bernthal in a Ford pick-up truck towing an Airstream trailer.
The Gone Girl star was all smiles as he posed with Bernthal, 48, before heading to the red carpet, where he reunited with his longtime friend Damon. The duo, famous for their breakthrough in Good Will Hunting, shared a few snaps and discussed their enduring friendship.
“It’s a beautiful thing,” Affleck told People. “None of us have very many friends—you don’t need a million friends. You need a few good ones. And I’m really lucky to have had a friend in Matt.”
Jennifer Lopez Reportedly Upset Over Affleck and Garner’s Paintball Outing
Ben Affleck SXSW appearance comes just a week after he was spotted in a cozy moment with his first ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, during a family paintball outing with their 12-year-old son, Samuel.

Sources revealed that Lopez, 55, was “furious” over the images, growing increasingly frustrated by frequent photos of Affleck and Garner together. “She’s not happy with constantly seeing photos of them,” an insider told Page Six, describing the affectionate snapshots as “salt in the wound.”
Is a Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner Reunion Possible?
While speculation swirls about the nature of Affleck and Garner’s relationship, sources insist there is no romantic reconciliation on the horizon.
“Ben would definitely be open to giving things another shot with [Garner] if the timing is ever right,” a source claimed. However, another insider clarified that Garner is “happy” in her relationship with businessman John Miller and is not looking to rekindle anything with Affleck.
Garner and Affleck married in 2005 and finalized their divorce in 2018. Meanwhile, Affleck and Lopez tied the knot in 2022, but their marriage ended after Lopez filed for divorce in August 2024, with the split finalized in January 2025.
Lopez filed for divorce from her “Gigli” co-star in August 2024 after two years of marriage.
The Accountant 2 Hits Theaters in April 2025
Despite the personal drama, Affleck is focused on his career. The Accountant 2, the long-awaited sequel to the 2016 action thriller, is set for release in April 2025. With Matt Damon’s unwavering support, Affleck appears ready to move forward—both professionally and personally.
