Vice President Sara Duterte has announced that she will not be endorsing any local candidates in Negros Occidental, including those in Bacolod City, for the May 2025 elections. Instead, she is focusing her efforts on promoting the Duter10 senatorial slate.
Campaigning for Duter10 Senate Candidates
Duterte made her statement during a visit to evacuation centers in La Castellana, La Carlota City, and Canlaon City on April 23. While there, she participated in local rallies to campaign for her senatorial candidates. Duterte thanked local leaders for allowing her to speak about her picks for the Senate.
“I am thankful to them for letting me campaign for my senatorial candidates,” Duterte said.
Endorsements for Imee Marcos and Camille Villar
Duterte has endorsed Senator Imee Marcos and Representative Camille Villar for the Senate. She explained that her support for these two candidates is due to their shared vision for the country and their alignment with the Duter10 initiative. Marcos withdrew from the Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas slate, which was endorsed by her brother, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
